Visual artist and poet, Teo Yamamoto was born in Japan and has been living in New York City since 1988.  
"CODE - drawings like poems, like drawings” is an on-going series that began in 2011 and continues to the present. As the title suggests, Yamamoto focuses on the secret of drawing pictures as if writing poetry. Exhibitions of the CODE series have been held in New York, Paris and Tokyo. Yamamoto has also been participating in group shows with her works of visual poetry and objet d'art. 
As a poet, Yamamoto has published several books of poetry including her bilingual Japanese and English collections "An Ordinary Tomorrow” and “Funny tail” that also feature her exquisite drawings. She performs her readings with live music collaborations.

『CODE〜絵のような詩のような絵』は、2011年から現在まで進行中のシリーズで、タイトル通り＜詩を書くように絵を描く＞という秘密にフォーカスしている。このシリーズの個展はニューヨーク、パリ、東京、大阪などで開いてきた。ビジュアル・ポエトリー、オフジェなどの作品で、グループ展にも参加している。 
詩人としては、『走る神』、『青鬼草』、詩とドローイングを合わせ日英バイリンガルで書かれた『普通の明日』『尻尾笑傳』などの詩集を出版している。音楽とともに詩の朗読パフォーマンスも行う。
